Rede NGT (Nova Geração de Televisão) is a Brazilian free-to-air television network operating in the general entertainment format. The primary language of broadcasting is Portuguese. The network was founded on October 8, 2003, by businessman Manoel Antonio Bernardi Costa, who acquired educational TV concessions in Osasco (São Paulo state) and Rio de Janeiro. The network is headquartered in São Paulo, with main studios in the Butantã neighborhood (Espaço 48) and additional facilities in Rio de Janeiro. NGT has 35 affiliated stations across 15 Brazilian states, covering approximately 13.6% of the national territory. The network’s slogan is “A Nova Geração!”

On air, NGT’s programming has historically included a mix of variety shows, journalism, films, sports, and series. Over its history, the network has produced several original programs, including:Programa do Jacaré, a variety show hosted by Jacaré (Vanilton Alves Pereira), known for his imitative style similar to presenter Ratinho, which aired on NGT after stints on RedeTV! and TV Diário;Temperando o Papo, a variety program featuring cultural information, music, and cooking segments; and Celeste Maria Recebe, an interview program that has featured guests such as Judge Antonio José Ferreira Carvalho. Other programs in the network’s history include NGT Notícias, Jornal Metropolitano SP/RJ, NGT Esporte, NGT Kids, Viaja Brasil, Cotidiano, and Sessão de Filmes (movie sessions). The network previously aired content from the Esporte Interativo sports channel in 2006, and has also featured licensed content from E+ Entretenimento and Medialand.

Since 2019, NGT has significantly reduced its original production, reportedly operating with only four employees producing programs, and has leased nearly all of its broadcast time to third-party producers. Between November 2020 and January 2021, the network aired only reruns in a loop for weeks, sometimes leaving the signal on a black screen for nearly 24 hours. In 2022, reports indicated that equipment was outdated, with only one HD camera available for all programs. Rumors of the network’s sale surfaced in 2020, with an estimated asking price of R$150 million, and in early 2024, presenter Ratinho reportedly considered acquiring NGT but declined due to the R$250 million asking price.

NGT is available throughout Brazil via digital terrestrial television on virtual channel 48.1 (São Paulo) and channel 12 (Rio de Janeiro), as well as on satellite and cable providers. The network also offers live streaming through its website.
