TV Aldeia online television
TV Aldeia is a Brazilian public television station based in Rio Branco, the capital of the state of Acre, operating in the educational and cultural format. The primary language of broadcasting is Portuguese. The station was founded in 1988 by the government of the state of Acre under the name TV Educativa do Acre and is owned by the Fundação de Cultura e Comunicação Elias Mansour (FEM), a state government agency. The station’s slogan is "TV pública de alma acreana" (Public TV with an Acre soul).
After being off the air for seven years, TV Aldeia was relaunched as TV Nova Aldeia on October 9, 2025, in a partnership between the state government, the Federal University of Acre (UFAC), and the Brazilian state broadcaster Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC). A total of R$ 1.25 million was invested to install a new digital transmitter, restoring the signal to approximately 345,000 people in Rio Branco and surrounding municipalities. The multiprogramming includes four channels: channel 2.1 (TV Brasil / TV Aldeia), channel 2.2 (Canal Gov), channel 2.3 (Canal Educação), and channel 2.4 (Canal Saúde).
On air, TV Aldeia historically produced local programs including the telejournal Boletim Aldeia, a 30-minute live newscast presented by journalist Larissa Costa with two daily editions. The station also produced documentaries and shows focusing on the culture and identity of the Amazon region. In its new phase, the station will feature content produced by the Federal University of Acre tailored to the state’s reality, alongside educational programming from Canal Educação and health content from Canal Saúde.
Historically, the station initially operated on analog channel 2 VHF. TV Aldeia was previously affiliated with TVE Brasil (1988–2007), TV Brasil (2007–2014), and TV Cultura (2014–2018) before its shutdown. Its sister stations include Aldeia FM and Rádio Difusora Acreana, also operated by the Elias Mansour Foundation. The station was originally founded by governor Flaviano Melo, with notable early journalists including Toinho Alves, Aníbal Diniz, and Altino Machado.
The station went off the air in 2018 after failing to meet the analog-to-digital transition deadline and remained inactive for over five years. After a failed attempt to reactivate in 2024, the station was successfully relaunched in October 2025 under its new branding. The state government also signed an order of service for R$ 398,000 in renovations to the historic TV Aldeia headquarters, including new studios and modernization of the building.
TV Aldeia is available in Rio Branco and surrounding municipalities via digital terrestrial television on UHF channel 30 (virtual channel 2.1).
TV Aldeia strives to be the public television voice of the state of Acre, promoting the culture and identity of the Amazon region and providing educational and informative content. The mission of the channel is to bring programming from the Amazon back to the national stage, offering high-quality public television that reflects the reality and identity of the people of Acre while fostering democracy and citizenship across the state.
