Access Media Productions Marina TV online television
Access Media Productions Marina TV is the United States municipal television channel for the city of Marina, California, a coastal community of about 22,000 people in Monterey County, eight miles northeast of Monterey and eight miles west of Salinas on State Route 1. The signal goes out as the Marina Channel through Access Media Productions, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit media center at 465 Tyler Street in Monterey, and lands on Comcast channel 25. Its job is local government: City Council sessions, Planning Commission hearings, advisory committee meetings and official civic announcements.
Marina incorporated on November 13, 1975 and is the newest city in the Monterey area, much of it built on land once held by Fort Ord, the Army post that closed in 1994 and now carries part of the California State University, Monterey Bay campus. That history drives the agenda. Council debates reach housing and land use on the former base, the city-owned Marina Municipal Airport, dunes and beach stewardship, budgets and public safety funding such as the Measure Q utility users tax. Community life gets airtime too, from the Labor Day Parade and Family Festival to Otter Fest each August and the Earth Day work party at Locke-Paddon Park. Evening meetings make it an archive for residents, journalists and students.
Around the council feed the channel carries study sessions, commission hearings and city department reports, with daily rebroadcasts and an archive of past meetings so a single agenda item can be revisited. Watch Live when Marina's government convenes, or stream online in HD on any screen.
