TV Brasil is the Brazilian public television network and the country's public broadcaster. The primary language of broadcasting is Portuguese. It is operated by the Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) and was launched on December 2, 2007, as part of a national project to unify the country's public broadcasters. The network is headquartered in Brasília, with its main studios there, and additional branches in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Its slogan is "A TV que aproxima" .
On air, TV Brasil's programming is a mix of educational, cultural, journalistic, scientific, and entertainment content. The network airs the telejournal Repórter Brasil, as well as the magazine programs Brasilianas.org and Sem Censura. It also broadcasts nationally produced telenovelas, documentaries, and children's programming. The network is part of the Rede Nacional de Comunicação Pública (RNCP) and is the largest public communication network in Brazil.
TV Brasil is available throughout Brazil via digital terrestrial television (DTT) with own stations in capital cities including Brasília on channel 2.1, Rio de Janeiro on channel 2.1, São Paulo on channel 1.1, and dozens more via a large network of affiliated stations across every Brazilian state. The network's master control is fed by the studios in Brasília, with national and state-level newscasts contributed by RNCP members. The network also provides a 24-hour live stream through its website (tvbrasil.ebc.com.br) and various mobile applications, ensuring that Brazilian audiences across the country and the global diaspora can access its public programming wherever they are.
