Africanews French online television
Africanews French is the French-language feed of Africanews, the pan-African news network owned by Euronews SA through its subsidiary Africanews SASU and presented as the first multilingual independent news channel in sub-Saharan Africa. The French service opened on 4 January 2016 and television transmission followed on 20 April 2016, under the slogan Your Voice. The newsroom was installed at Pointe-Noire in the Republic of Congo and moved in 2020 to Lyon in France, where the parent company sits. It reports African and world news and business from an African point of view, in French and English, with bilingual on-screen graphics.
The French service runs the group grid: news and weather every half hour, Good Morning Africa and The Morning Call in the morning, Daily News through the afternoon, Prime Edition in the evening, The Nightshift overnight and International Weekend at the weekend. Weekly strands carry Business Africa and Markets on economies and commodities, Football Planet on football, Focus with long reports and The Global Conversation with decision-makers. This is Culture! and Sci_Tech cover culture and science, No Comment shows pictures without voiceover, and Météo Africa with Météo World gives the forecasts. Reporting is filed by region: Central, North, Southern, East and West Africa and the Indian Ocean.
The feed is free and needs no set-top box: Watch Live in a browser, on a connected television, a phone or tablet, with bulletins on demand after transmission.
