Africanews online television

Africanews is the English-language feed of the pan-African 24-hour news network owned by Euronews SA through its subsidiary Africanews SASU. It went online on 4 January 2016 and began broadcasting on television and by satellite on 20 April 2016, under the slogan Your Voice. The newsroom began in Pointe-Noire, Republic of Congo, and moved in 2020 to Lyon in France, where the parent company sits. The project was launched in 2013 by Michael Peters, then chairman of the Euronews SA board, with Stephen Smith and François Chignac supervising; the launch team numbered 85 people from 15 nationalities.

Like its sister network, it runs news and weather summaries every half hour, and the day is divided into Good Morning Africa and The Morning Call from six to eleven, Daily News until six in the evening, Prime Edition through the evening and The Nightshift overnight, with International Weekend at the weekend. Weekly strands carry the analysis: Business Africa and Markets on the economy and commodities, Football Planet on football, Focus with in-depth reports and The Global Conversation, an interview with a decision-maker. Culture and science have This is Culture! and Sci_Tech, pictures without commentary run under No Comment, Timeout Africa rounds up events.

The feed is free to watch, reaches dozens of countries across sub-Saharan Africa and is partly carried by national broadcasters.
