The Euronews network was created by a consortium of European public broadcasters to cover world news from a European perspective. Today, the channel is owned by Euronews SA, with the majority (88 percent) owned by Portuguese investment management firm Alpac Capital, while 12 percent remains owned by 20 European Broadcasting Union member organizations, including France Télévisions, RAI (Italy), RTP (Portugal), RTBF (Belgium), and others. In just 20 minutes, the program brings viewers up to speed on the biggest news of the day, featuring interviews with political leaders, EU officials, and experts, as well as live reports from Euronews correspondents across Europe. The signature program No Comment has been a staple of the channel since its launch, presenting news footage from around the world without any commentary, allowing viewers to form their own opinions about events. The Ring is the channel's weekly political showdown, where two political heavyweights from across the EU face off to propose a diversity of opinions and spark conversations around the most important issues of EU affairs and European political life.
