Cadena A online television
Cadena A is a Bolivian free-to-air television network with national coverage and a generalist profile, headquartered between La Paz and Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The network began in 1999 as Red Digital TV and took its current name, Cadena A Red Nacional, on 4 February 2003. It operates under the slogan Somos Bolivia, Somos Cadena A — we are Bolivia, we are Cadena A — and it is owned by the Compañía Comercial Minera Ricacruz and operated by Empresa de Comunicaciones del Oriente. On the digital terrestrial grid it sits on channel 3.1 in La Paz, El Alto and Cochabamba and on 9.2 in Santa Cruz.
The network built its name on its own productions from La Paz and Santa Cruz: newscasts, infomercials and the morning magazine Levántate Bolivia, on air since 2011. Since the 2019 relaunch as Cadena A HD, the grid leans on international content: North American series, Discovery documentaries, telenovelas from Canal RCN and SBT productions, alongside the network's own studio programs. The mix of local production and imported entertainment keeps it among the country's general-interest networks.
