Smithsonian HD Network přináší dokumentární a faktografické pořady čerpající z archivů a výzkumu této instituce. Stanice se zaměřuje na americké dějiny, přírodní vědy, průzkum vesmíru a kulturní dědictví, často s využitím archivních záběrů a komentářů odborníků.
