Kurai is a television channel from Bashkortostan that broadcasts from Ufa and is named after the traditional Bashkir flute, a symbol of the musical culture of the region. The channel presents its programs in Bashkir, Tatar, and Russian and celebrates the folk music and traditions of the peoples of the southern Urals. Its schedule combines music, culture, and ethnography in a warm and respectful tone that honors the heritage of the republic and its many peoples. The channel works closely with the folk ensembles, music schools, and cultural centers of Bashkortostan and gives young talents an opportunity to be heard by a wide audience. Its programs are created with love for the native land and with respect for the viewers who keep the traditions of their ancestors.

The heart of the schedule is formed by folk music programs that present traditional Bashkir and Tatar songs, throat singing, and instrumental pieces performed on the kurai and other national instruments. Concert recordings bring performances by folk ensembles, dance groups, and honored artists of the republic to the screen. Cultural and ethnographic programs tell about national holidays, crafts, cuisine, and the history of the region, while music videos by contemporary performers show how modern Bashkir and Tatar artists develop the traditions of their ancestors today.

Kurai is available as a live TV broadcast and through online television services, so viewers can watch Kurai online from any device with an internet connection. The live stream allows the Bashkir and Tatar diaspora in other regions and countries to stay in touch with the music and language of their homeland. New viewers discover the channel every day, and its audience continues to grow. With its dedication to national culture, Kurai remains a valued part of broadcasting in Bashkortostan.
