ATV (Andina de Televisión) is a Peruvian free-to-air television network operating in the generalist format. The primary language of broadcasting is Spanish. The channel was founded in 1983 and began its experimental transmissions in Lima. ATV is owned by the Albavisión media group, a Latin American conglomerate controlled by Mexican businessman Remigio Ángel González. The channel is headquartered in the San Borja district of Lima, Peru. ATV is one of the major national networks in Peru, available nationwide as ATV (Canal 9 in Lima). Its slogan is "El canal de la gente" (The people's channel).
On air, ATV's programming includes a mix of Peruvian news programs, entertainment, telenovelas, and international series. The flagship news program is ATV Noticias, which produces strong daily news coverage with a focus on current events, politics, and social issues. The morning and midday editions are produced under the banner ATV Noticias al Día. The network is also known for airing popular Latin American telenovelas (co-productions with TV Azteca), reality shows like Esto es Guerra (which had high ratings during its 2012–2019 run), and international films. In recent years, ATV has increased its production of local Peruvian entertainment, including comedy and talk segments, aimed at a broad audience. Notable presenters and journalists associated with the network over the years include Mávila Huertas, Heddy García, Guido Lombardi, and Jaime Chincha.
ATV is available throughout Peru via digital terrestrial television (channel 9.1 in Lima) and on all major cable and satellite providers. The network has a strong presence in the digital space, offering a free mobile app for Android and iOS, and live streaming on its official website, atv.pe. The channel also broadcasts an international signal, ATV Internacional, which is carried on cable systems in the United States, Europe, and other regions with a significant Peruvian diaspora, ensuring that Peruvians abroad can stay connected to news and entertainment from their home country.
ATV strives to be a leading broadcaster in Peru, offering a mix of quality news, entertainment, and cultural programming for the Peruvian family. The mission of the channel is to provide content that informs, educates, and entertains, while also serving as a platform for Peruvian talent and national identity. Thanks to modern digital platforms, ATV provides the opportunity to watch online the live broadcast on any device - from smartphones to computers - ensuring that its programming reaches Peruvians across the country and the global diaspora wherever they are.
