Antiques Roadshow PBS online television
Antiques Roadshow PBS is the American version of the beloved British antiques program, produced by GBH in Boston and broadcast on PBS stations since 1997. Each week the show travels to a different American city, where local residents bring family heirlooms, flea-market finds and attic discoveries to be appraised by experts from leading auction houses and dealers. The format turns provenance, craftsmanship and history into television: a dusty painting can become a museum piece, and a garage-sale vase can hide a five-figure surprise. Over the years the series has uncovered legendary treasures, including a Navajo chief's blanket valued at half a million dollars and a set of Chinese rhinoceros horn cups estimated above one million.
The program was first hosted by antiques expert Chris Jussel, followed by Dan Elias and Lara Spencer, before Mark L. Walberg led the show from 2006 to 2019; since 2020 actress Coral Peña narrates the series. Late in 2018 the production left the convention centers and began filming at historic sites and museums, with appraisals taking place outdoors among America's landmarks. The series has earned more than twenty Primetime Emmy nominations and finally won the award in 2026. Its world also includes the spin-offs Antiques Roadshow FYI and Antiques Roadshow Recut, which revisit earlier appraisals and tell what happened to the objects and their owners.
