Amazon Sat online television
Amazon Sat is a Brazilian television network dedicated entirely to the Amazon, registered as Amazonia Cabo Ltda., concessioned in Porto Velho, Rondonia, headquartered in Manaus, Amazonas. It belongs to Grupo Rede Amazonica, which also runs the Rede Amazonica stations, and presents itself as the first thematic channel devoted exclusively to Amazonian subjects: the people, the culture, the economy and the prospects for sustainable development of the region, aiming to be the true face and voice of the Amazon. Broadcasting is in Portuguese in high definition; the signal first went to air in 1997.
The schedule carries around twenty hours of programming about the region, produced with the support of five generating stations and built on news, environment, agriculture, science and culture. Regular strands include the agriculture show Amazon Sat Agro, the interview series Entrevistas and Gente do Norte, and coverage of riverine celebrations such as the night fluvial procession of Oriximina. Since September 2019 the channel is the main communication vehicle of the Fundacao Rede Amazonica, the institutional arm of the group, and works on three pillars: sustainability, education, entrepreneurship. Overnight on weekdays it carries the signal of the partner TV Nazare, the rest of the week runs its own grid, and in September 2020 it became the first station in Latin America to broadcast three-dimensional sound with Dolby Atmos.
The feed is free and needs no set-top box to stream online: Watch Live from a browser, a connected television, a phone or a tablet, and the signal that reaches five states of the north is already running.
