Aghapy TV online television
Aghapy TV is a Coptic Orthodox Christian satellite channel broadcasting in Arabic from Cairo, and it describes itself as the first Coptic Orthodox satellite channel. It belongs to the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria and was set up by Fr. Bishoy Elantony under the supervision of Bishop Botros, working under the patronage of the Pope of Alexandria. The name is the Greek and Coptic word Agape, meaning love, sometimes unconditional love, and the channel's motto is just as short: the church in your home. Its stated purpose is to serve Christians everywhere with spiritual, social and health-related programming.
The signal travels by satellite to Coptic communities in Egypt, in North America and as far as Australia and New Zealand, and the same output runs as a live feed on the internet for everyone else. Much of the daily work is done by volunteers, and the broadcaster is financed by the communities it serves rather than by advertisers, through donations at home and abroad. A children's channel, Aghapy Kids, sits beside the main service, and recordings of liturgies and programmes are published online afterwards, so a viewer who misses a service can follow it later.
Watching costs nothing and needs no subscription, so anyone can watch live at any hour. For Copts far from Egypt the channel is a parish that fits in a pocket; for everyone else it is a rare window on one of the oldest churches in the Christian world, and this TV Online page carries the same feed. If you want to Watch TV Online Free with Coptic worship, teaching and family programmes, or stream online while Cairo keeps its rhythm, the Egypt Live Stream keeps the channel named after love on screen day and night.
