DTV Maashorst online television

DTV Maashorst is the local public television channel of the municipality of Maashorst in Noord-Brabant, Netherlands. It belongs to DTV Nieuws, a cooperation of three local public broadcasters covering four regions and sharing one radio channel. Radio and television run a joint newsroom: the same team writes the website news, produces the television programmes and reads the radio bulletins at short intervals through the day.

The radio side grew out of a merger: the foundation that ran the Maasland station and this television brand joined with the broadcaster of the neighbouring Bernheze area, which had its own radio and television services. The cooperation receives municipal subsidies from the towns it serves, an example of how local broadcasting is financed in the Netherlands.

The territory is young: the municipality was formed from the fusion of Uden and Landerd and consists of six cores - Uden, Volkel, Odiliapeel, Reek, Schaijk and Zeeland - with the town hall in Uden, and its name comes from the nature area between the villages, a quiet green heart of the region.
