DR1 live stream

DR1 online television

DR1 is the flagship television channel of DR, the Danish public service broadcaster, and it holds a special place in the country's media history as Denmark's first television station. It began broadcasting on 2 October 1951, at first for only an hour a day, three times a week, when barely two hundred television sets existed in Copenhagen. Over the decades it grew into the nation's main general-interest channel, operating from the DR Byen headquarters in Copenhagen and carrying earlier names such as Statsradiofonien TV, Danmarks Radio TV and DR TV before settling on DR1.

The schedule mixes news, drama, documentaries and culture. Its long-running bulletin TV Avisen delivers national and international news every day, while the drama strand built the broadcaster's reputation abroad with series such as Borgen, Forbrydelsen (The Killing), Broen (The Bridge), Arvingerne (The Legacy) and Rita, alongside the classic Matador. Through the Nordvision partnership DR1 also shares co-productions with the other Nordic public broadcasters, and it screens programmes from the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia in their original language with Danish subtitles.

As a public service channel it reaches viewers across the Danish Realm on terrestrial, cable and satellite platforms and through the broadcaster's online service. The internet feed is served in several quality rungs, the highest at 1920 by 1080 and fifty frames a second. Watch Live in a browser on a computer, a tablet or a connected television.
