DMF is a German free-to-air entertainment channel, known until 3 June 2024 as Deutsches Musik Fernsehen, operated by Deutsches Musik Fernsehen GmbH & Co. KG and supervised by the Bremen media authority. Its history began on 15 February 2007 as Volksmusik.TV, a channel of folk and traditional music, which became Deutsches Musik Fernsehen on 1 February 2011 and took the short name DMF with the move to a new satellite capacity in 2024. Watch Live the German feed and keep a steady Germany Live Stream of entertainment television.

Today the grid is built around films and series: beloved German productions such as Der Bergdoktor and Verbotene Liebe, music entertainment films with stars like Roy Black, Uschi Glas, Eddi Arent, Ernst Stankovski and Georg Thomalla, and a selection of Schlager music shows that keep the musical roots of the house alive. The night after eleven belongs to the cult comedy films of the seventies with a loyal adult audience, and teleshopping blocks fill parts of the day, the classic funding mix of spots and infomercials of a free channel.

DMF reaches about 25 million television households: free via satellite and in almost all cable networks of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, in high definition through major streaming platforms and in many IPTV packages, around the clock. The same signal is published as an internet stream, so viewers can stream online on a phone, tablet, laptop or TV, and the official site adds the programme grid, the reception guide, the newsletter and a greeting service for loved ones. Clips and channel information run on the official video channel of the broadcaster.
