CG Entertainment is not a traditional television channel but rather an independent home video distribution company that launched its own free television channel called CG TV. The company was founded in 1994 under the name Cecchi Gori Home Video and was originally part of the Cecchi Gori Group. In 2006, CG Entertainment separated from the Cecchi Gori Group and changed its name to CG Home Video. In January 2015, the company was renamed CG Entertainment. The company is headquartered in Campi Bisenzio, near Florence, Tuscany, with additional offices in Sesto Fiorentino.

CG Entertainment specializes in distributing independent Italian and international cinema. The company releases films on physical media including DVD and Blu-ray, as well as on digital platforms and video-on-demand services. In 2019, CG Entertainment launched its own VOD platform, CG Digital, offering over 700 films for rental or purchase. The company actively seeks and supports new authors in the cinema landscape, promotes documentary films, and supports the distribution and rediscovery of cult Italian genre cinema, while continuing to represent classic Italian cinema for the public.

In December 2020, CG Entertainment launched a free television channel called CG TV. The channel is entirely dedicated to the best of Italian cinema, both classic and contemporary, with great attention also paid to emerging authors and documentary cinema. The schedule is enriched by high-quality international productions presented and awarded at major film festivals. Completing the offering of CG TV is the MASTERCLASS series, which features exclusive interviews with major authors and performers of Italian and international cinema. The channel was launched in partnership with Samsung and is available for free on Samsung TV Plus.

CG TV is available for free to all owners of a Samsung Smart TV produced from 2016 onward. Viewers can access the CG TV channel by opening the Samsung TV Plus application and selecting the channel from the menu. The channel broadcasts a live schedule, and the films programmed are also available in on-demand mode. The offering of films is regularly updated, providing viewers with new titles and content to discover. Samsung TV Plus offers viewers direct access to top news, sports, entertainment, and much more, is 100 percent free, and requires no download, registration, credit card, or subscription.

In addition to the television channel, CG Entertainment operates an e-commerce portal where customers can purchase physical media directly. The website is integrated with social networks and offers a newsletter for registered users to receive updates on new releases, dedicated promotions, and exclusive events. The site is divided into eight thematic channels: Indie, Horror, Classic, Action, Comedy, Anime, Doc, and Cult, with each channel having a dedicated homepage where content is filtered by genre. From the page dedicated to each title, users can compare prices for DVD, Blu-ray Disc, or digital versions.

CG Entertainment also operates a crowdfunding service called START UP!, which allows viewers to directly participate in the publication of cinema masterpieces that would not otherwise find space on the traditional market. Through this service, the company has published prestigious editions of classic and genre films, involving spectators directly in the process. The company chairman is Lorenzo Ferrari Ardicini. CG Entertainment continues to position itself as a reference point for independent Italian and international cinema, distributing films in multiple formats including physical media, digital platforms, and television broadcasting.
