Biosfera TV online television
Biosfera TV is the local television channel of Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands, Spain, broadcasting in Spanish from a base at Polígono Industrial Playa Honda, Nave 9, in the province of Las Palmas. The station was founded on 6 June 2016 and is directed by Salvador Hernández, and it presents itself as the island channel with the largest share of original production. It works alongside the digital newspaper Biosferadigital, which covers Lanzarote and its municipalities, from Arrecife and Teguise to Tías, Yaiza and La Graciosa.
The schedule mixes news, talk, culture, sport and live events. The flagship is Lanzarote al Día, with the veteran communicator Jaime Puig and the journalist Paola Delgado from Monday to Friday at two in the afternoon: a news block, an interview with a figure from politics, business or culture, and a daily debate with journalists and political representatives. Sport holds a fixed place through Grada Cero, the weekday sports bulletin with Moisés Clavijo, Manos a la Arena on Canarian wrestling with Pepe Barrios and Kronómetro Cero on motorsport with Cipriano García.
The channel also works outside the studio, with live broadcasts of festivals and traditional celebrations such as the Romería de Los Dolores pilgrimage, reported on location by Domingo Rivero and Paola Delgado, and the Festival Altaja folk music event. Reception runs over digital terrestrial television across Lanzarote, where viewers may need to rescan their sets, and online through the Biosferadigital website and the channel YouTube page, where live and recorded programmes stay available.
