Big Magic online television

Big Magic is an Indian free-to-air Hindi entertainment channel owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises, with its base in Noida. It went on air on 4 April 2011, launched by Reliance Broadcasting Network and branded in line with the Big FM radio network, and it joined the Zee group in November 2016. The picture runs in 1080i high definition with a letterboxed 576i standard definition feed, and the channel is carried free to air on cable and digital platforms across the country.

The launch plan was deliberately regional: the network aimed at about a third of the national population by concentrating on the Hindi heartland states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, where it was distributed through cable systems across all three, and within months it became the most watched channel in that belt. A Bhojpuri version followed in 2013 for Bihar and Jharkhand. On screen the channel built its name on comedy and light family fiction, with titles such as Har Mushkil Ka Hal Akbar Birbal, Tedi Medi Family, Nadaniyaan, Ji Sirji, Nautanki News and Mahisagar, plus drama and mythology including Bal Gopal Kare Dhamaal, Baal Krishna, Chakradhari Ajay Krishna, Rudra Ke Rakshak and the returning sitcom Hum Paanch Phir Se.
