I checked the webcam before a Venice trip and found the early morning view especially useful for judging the weather and water traffic. On a slow evening it can feel repetitive, but the steady picture and glimpses of passing gondolas still beat relying on cable travel footage.

I tuned in for a quiet break and ended up watching the gondolas drift past. The live canal view is more relaxing than most afternoon shows, though the weather looks a little grey today.
