I keep the webcam on during late Sunday afternoons, especially when Cowes Week brings a steady stream of yachts and ferries. It is calmer than cable TV on a slow evening, and handy to check from abroad when I miss the Solent, though the fixed view can feel repetitive.

The harbour traffic is a quiet reminder that local news is often about weather, ferries and small changes that affect daily life. I would still like a clearer update when strong winds disrupt crossings.
