DD National ist der öffentlich-rechtliche Hauptsender Indiens und bietet eine Mischung aus Unterhaltung, Nachrichten und kulturellen Programmen. Zum Sendeplan gehören indische Filme, Serien und Musikshows sowie nationale Nachrichtensendungen und Live-Übertragungen wichtiger Staatszeremonien. Der Kanal zeigt zudem Bildungsinhalte, Dokumentationen und gelegentlich Sportübertragungen. Die Programme sind überwiegend auf Hindi und Englisch und erreichen das Publikum landesweit über terrestrische und Satellitennetze.
