BBC Four ist in der Schweiz empfangbar und sendet ein breites Spektrum an faktualen Programmen, darunter Dokumentationen zu Geschichte, Wissenschaft und Kunst. Der Kanal zeigt zudem britische Dramaserien, klassische Musikaufführungen sowie ausgewählte internationale Filme. Das Programm verzichtet in der Regel auf Werbeunterbrechungen und konzentriert sich auf kulturelle und bildende Inhalte. In der Schweiz ist BBC Four über Satellit sowie über einige Kabel- und IPTV-Anbieter zu empfangen, wobei Englisch die primäre Sendesprache ist.
