WORLD Channel je veřejnoprávní televizní služba dostupná po celých Spojených státech, zaměřená na dokumentární, zpravodajské a publicistické pořady. Jeho program vychází z tvorby nezávislých producentů i mezinárodních vysílatelů a pokrývá témata jako aktuální dění, věda, historie a poznávání kultur. Stanice často vysílá dlouhé publicistické příspěvky, investigativní reportáže a filmy, které zkoumají společenská témata z různých úhlů pohledu. Diváci se mohou setkat s obsahem původně vyrobeným pro PBS, BBC nebo jiná veřejnoprávní média, s důrazem na hloubkové vyprávění namísto komerční zábavy. Program se vyhýbá reality show nebo scénářům, místo toho nabízí pravidelný proud faktických seriálů a speciálů, které přibližují domácí i světové příběhy.
