Nickelodeon HD vysílá program složený z animovaných seriálů a live-action komedií původně určených pro děti a mladší teenagery ve Spojených státech. Programová skladba se silně opírá o groteskní humor, příběhy postav a fantasy prvky, přičemž výrazně chybí zpravodajství, dokumenty nebo sportovní obsah. Epizody obvykle běží v půlhodinových blocích, s občasnými delšími speciály nebo filmovými uvedeními o prázdninách či víkendových odpolednech. HD verze nabízí ostřejší obraz a čistší zvuk oproti standardnímu rozlišení, což je nejdůležitější pro rychlé animace a jasné barevné palety typické pro tvorbu této stanice.

Diváci mohou Nickelodeon HD naladit u většiny kabelových a satelitních operátorů v zemi, často v dětské nebo rodinné kategorii programových nabídek. Vizuální identita stanice spoléhá na opakující se krátké vsuvky a upoutávky namísto tradičních rekl
