National Geographic Wild HD se zaměřuje na chování zvířat, přírodní prostředí a vědu o divoké přírodě napříč Spojenými státy i v dalších regionech. Jeho programy čerpají z práce terénních výzkumníků a kameramanů, kteří dokumentují druhy v jejich přirozeném prostředí – od afrických savan po arktická ledová pole. Stanice vysílá dokumenty a seriály zkoumající vztahy mezi predátory a kořistí, migrační vzorce a snahy o ochranu přírody, často v HD kvalitě, která zachycuje detaily jako strukturu peří nebo noční lov.
