CSPAN2 přináší živé, nepřerušované přenosy z jednání Senátu Spojených států, a nabízí tak přímý vhled do legislativního procesu. Stanice vysílá plenární zasedání v celém rozsahu, bez komentáře či střihu, a umožňuje divákům sledovat debaty, hlasování i projevy v reálném čase. Kromě živých přenosů program zahrnuje i záznamy slyšení, schůzí výborů a akcí z oblasti veřejných záležitostí, často s účastí zákonodárců, odborníků na politiku a vládních představitelů.
