I keep this webcam on during slow evenings, especially when the sky turns pink over Jost Van Dyke. It is not a substitute for a travel documentary, but the steady view is useful for checking sea conditions and getting a feel for the islands from abroad.

I keep this view open while working because the shifting light over the islands and the little changes on the water are far more calming than most background noise.

Between election panels and business headlines, this live view is a welcome reality check: the world is still more than a scrolling ticker and breaking-news banner.

This view is a quiet reminder that weather news is not just numbers on a ticker. When storms approach the islands, seeing the channel in real time can say more than a rushed forecast.
