The station began with limited broadcast hours, initially airing 1 hour per day in 1999, expanding to 3 hours per week by 2000, 3 hours daily by 2003, 4 hours daily by 2007, and 9 hours daily by December 2010.

Syarnida Apt, MM. from BBPOM Pekanbaru, Kombes Pol Bachtiar Alponso, S.I.K., M.Si. from Polda Riau, DR. Syartiwidya, S.T.P., M.Si. from KPPG Pekanbaru, and NS Widodo, S.Kep., S.H. from Dinkes Provinsi Riau, hosted by presenter Muhammad Rizal. In August 2024, TVRI Riau collaborated with the Riau Provincial Government through the Food Security and Horticulture Office to hold a Gerakan Pangan Murah (Affordable Food Movement) event at the TVRI Riau headquarters in Pekanbaru in celebration of TVRI Riau`s 62nd anniversary, with Pj Gubernur Riau SF Hariyanto represented by Kadiskominfotik Riau Ikhwan Ridwan, joined by Bulog and Bank Indonesia, to help stabilize food supplies and prices for the community. Kepala Stasiun TVRI Pekanbaru Didik Kusjadmika expressed gratitude for the collaboration.
