TVRI Papua online television

TVRI Papua (LPP TVRI Stasiun Papua) is the regional public broadcasting station of TVRI (Televisi Republik Indonesia) serving the province of Papua, as well as Central Papua, Mountainous Papua, and South Papua . The station was established on February 23, 1993, under the name TVRI Jayapura , and its headquarters are located on Jalan Bhayangkara 1-C, Jayapura City . As a dedicated source for online television, the station is led by Kepala Stasiun Erwin Hendarwin and operates under the national TVRI slogan Media Pemersatu Bangsa (The Nation's Unifier). The station broadcasts a mix of national TVRI relays and local content for the Papua region, with approximately 92% of the schedule carrying TVRI Nasional programming and 8% dedicated to local production, broadcast from 10:00-14:00 WIT and 15:00-20:00 WIT . TVRI Papua has a crucial role as the only television broadcaster covering large areas of Indonesia's easternmost region, and is actively working to strengthen its infrastructure, as the current broadcast coverage in the entire Papua region remains the lowest in Indonesia at 14% of the population .

The programming schedule allows viewers to watch live channel coverage of local news, cultural programs, public dialogue, and entertainment. The flagship local news program is Papua Hari Ini (Papua Today), a daily news bulletin covering regional events across the province . The station also produces Klik Sulampa , Berita Sepekan (Weekly News) , Putar Kah , and Karaoke Udara (Air Karaoke) , as well as educational and public dialogue programs addressing social issues. The station has partnered with the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Papua Province to broadcast a dialogue program focused on religious moderation, with the goal of ensuring public spaces are filled with narratives that are inclusive, combat extremist rhetoric and hate speech, and strengthen social harmony .

TVRI Papua serves as the official broadcaster for major international sporting events through the national TVRI network. On February 1, 2026, the station held a kickoff ceremony at its Jayapura headquarters for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, for which TVRI has been appointed as the sole official broadcaster for Indonesia . The event was attended by the Head of the Papua Province Communication and Informatics Agency, members of the Provincial Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), and local media leaders . TVRI will broadcast 104 matches of the World Cup, which will be held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026, across TVRI Nasional and TVRI Sport channels . Kepala Stasiun TVRI Papua Erwin Hendrawin emphasized that this mandate reflects the state's commitment to providing entertainment and information to all Indonesian people, as directed by President Prabowo Subianto .

TVRI is actively strengthening its broadcast infrastructure across Papua to ensure equitable access to information and entertainment. In February 2026, Jayawijaya Regent Atenius Murip visited TVRI Headquarters in Jakarta to discuss the reopening of the TVRI station in Wamena, Mountainous Papua Province . TVRI President Director Iman Brotoseno reaffirmed the commitment to optimizing transmitters in Jayawijaya Regency as part of a broader mission to ensure equal distribution of public broadcasting services, particularly in remote, frontier, and underserved regions . Additionally, TVRI is modernizing its transmission station on Saonek Island, Raja Ampat Regency, Southwest Papua, as part of the Ministry of Communication and Digital's Broadcasting Digitalization System (DBS) program financed through a loan from the French Government . Despite existing challenges, including blank spots in some areas of Papua where digital broadcast coverage remains limited , TVRI Papua continues to work toward full digital transition.

For audiences seeking a reliable live stream, TVRI Papua is widely available as a free-to-air service via digital terrestrial television (DVB-T2). The station broadcasts via satellite in MPEG-4 HD 1080 format on the Merah Putih satellite at 108.0 degrees East on frequency 3720 MHz with horizontal polarization, a symbol rate of 32727, and FEC of 2/3, using DVB-S2 8PSK transmission with no encryption (Free-to-Air) . The channel is accessible as tv online via the official TVRI Klik platform at klik.tvri.go.id, which provides 24-hour live streaming of all TVRI channels through website and mobile applications for Android and iOS devices, as well as through the official TVRI website at tvri.go.id. TVRI Papua also maintains official social media presence for live streaming and video-on-demand access, ensuring that its local news, cultural programming, and World Cup 2026 broadcasts reach viewers across the Papua region and the global Indonesian diaspora.
