TV 1 Oberösterreich online television
TV1 Oberösterreich is an Austrian regional television channel operating in the local news and information format. The primary language of broadcasting is German. The channel is based in Linz, the capital of Upper Austria, with its studio located in the Promenaden Galerien. The channel is operated by TV1 OÖ GmbH, with Christof Bauer serving as managing director. TV1 is the regional television station of the Upper Austrian News ("Oberösterreichischen Nachrichten" or OÖN), the largest daily newspaper in the state. The channel broadcasts as a regional full program (Vollprogramm) seven days a week and is available across most of Upper Austria.
On air, TV1 focuses exclusively on regional current affairs, culture, sports, and lifestyle from Upper Austria. The format is designed to be up-to-date and local, complementing the daily newspaper. The flagship program is OÖNTV, which airs Monday through Friday at 6:45 PM. This daily news magazine, produced in cooperation with the OÖN editorial team, mirrors the newspaper's main topics and includes studio discussions with experts on current issues. Before and after OÖNTV, the channel broadcasts the format Oberösterreich im Überblick (Upper Austria at a Glance), which presents current reports from across the state. The channel also produces magazine formats such as Altes Handwerk in OÖ (Old Crafts in Upper Austria), Bau- und Wohnträume (Building and Living Dreams), Schätze unserer Heimat (Treasures of our Homeland), Wir sind Oberösterreich (We are Upper Austria), and Fit mit Mena (Fit with Mena). Health programs, including segments on topics such as celiac disease and burnout, are also a staple of the schedule.
The channel's editorial team is co-led by Marlene Augdoppler, who was named Redaktionsleiterin (Editor-in-Chief) in April 2024. She shares this role with Kristina Hörtenhuber-Wendner. Further team members include presenters and editors such as Lukas Kurzwernhart, Daniel Jeier, Matthias Moser, and Roswitha Hummelbrunner. The goal of the programming is to be authentic and close to the people, with the team regularly filming on location throughout Upper Austria rather than solely from a studio.
TV1 is available throughout much of Upper Austria via cable networks including A1, Magenta, Liwest, and Kabelplus, as well as via the DVB-T2 platform simpliTV. The channel broadcasts in HD (High Definition) and also provides a 24/7 live stream on its official website, where all programs are available for online viewing.
TV1 strives to serve as the primary source of local news and entertainment for the people of Upper Austria, offering coverage of events that matter in their daily lives. The mission of the channel is to strengthen regional identity through high-quality, independent journalism and to provide a complementary digital offering to its print partner, OÖN, ensuring that residents of Upper Austria and former residents living elsewhere can stay connected to their home state wherever they are.
