The channel was launched on October 16, 2006, originally under the name Famtel Televisión, which was owned by the late comedian Carlos Trujillo "Carloco". The channel is owned by CNC Medios, with Marcelo Mendizábal Terrazas serving as general manager and Eduardo Guggiana Jorquera as director . The channel is headquartered at Copiapó 886 in Antofagasta, Chile, and its slogan is "Tu imagen, tu identidad es también la nuestra" (Your image, your identity is also ours) .

In December 2010, the channel purchased cameras and equipment for high-definition program production and acquired two mobile units capable of HD recording, which could be used by both Antofagasta TV and CNN Chile . In May 2018, the TVR channel from Santiago was added to the ATV multiplex on channel 14.2, along with the addition of FM Plus radio station on channel 14.3. In July of the same year, the channel ended its analog transmissions on UHF channel 30 in Antofagasta . Since May 29, 2020, ATV, along with several Arcatel channels, was added to the fiber television service, IPTV of Movistar .
