Sharjah TV, also known as Sharjah Television, is an Emirati public broadcasting television channel that was inaugurated on February 11, 1989, by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, with the station’s foundation laid on November 18, 1985, and its building completed on August 31, 1988 . The channel is owned by the Sharjah Media Corporation (SMC), a government entity established in 2009 via an Emiri decree, and its headquarters are located at the Cultural Square in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates . As a dedicated source for online television, the channel broadcasts primarily in the Arabic language with a cultural and religious format, positioning itself as a major source of knowledge and culture that emphasizes the core values of the UAE and the region .
