More than three centuries later the salvage ship Eureka Maru pulls the wreck free - pilot Beka Valentine, engineer Seamus Harper, doctor Trance Gemini, the pacifist Magog Rev Bem and the Nietzschean Tyr Anasazi. The Commonwealth is gone, The Long Night has begun, and Hunt sets out to rekindle its light.
