Ando TV online television
Ando TV, written in Tibetan script and long known as the Qinghai Tibetan-language general channel, is the only channel in mainland China broadcasting in the Amdo dialect of Tibetan. It went on air on the Tibetan Fire Dog New Year, after satellite transmission was approved and a trial broadcast had run; at launch it carried only a few hours of Tibetan a day, the rest in Chinese, working as a relay of Qinghai Satellite TV. The Tibetan share rose through a later revamp and kept growing until the channel ran all day in Amdo Tibetan.
The identity took longer to settle than the schedule. The logo read Qinghai General for years, a green balloon ident replaced it, a repackaging changed the name to Qinghai Tibetan and moved the dubbed Xinwen Lianbo bulletin into the late evening, and only afterwards did the call sign become Ando TV. The channel is operated by Qinghai Radio and Television, the broadcaster formed by merging Qinghai Television and Qinghai People's Radio, which together run four television channels.
Amdo, one of the three traditional Tibetan regions, covers most of Qinghai with parts of Sichuan and Gansu around open grassland - and that is the audience the channel addresses in its own dialect, through a portal carrying news, radio, live transmission, folk culture, music and film in Tibetan. Watching needs no subscription and no account, so anyone can watch live at any hour, and this TV Online page carries the same signal. If you want to Watch TV Online Free with the Amdo Tibetan channel, or stream online from the grassland country, the China Live Stream keeps Ando TV on screen.
