Anand TV online television

Anand TV, on air and online as Anand TV National, is an Indian spiritual television channel a self-described growing devotional satellite channel of the country, with religious programming in Hindi. Its day rests on three titles named in its own round-the-clock broadcast: Shrimad Bhagwat Katha, Shri Ram Katha and Bhajan Sandhya, with live transmissions and delayed repeats, plus the discourses of saints, devotional music and socio-cultural ceremonies.

Much of the schedule comes from Karauli Shankar Dham and the gatherings called Anand Darbar, held around Shri Shri 1008 Mahamandaleshwar Shri Karauli Shankar Das Ji Maharaj, with the One Day Havan and the testimonies of devotees about what changed in their family life. The katha cycles travel from place to place, numbered episode by episode: readings from Vrindavan with Ravikant Mishra, from Lucknow with Mahavir Sharma, from Noida with Acharya Shantanu, a Rajasthan cycle with Navalesh Ji Maharaj and a village cycle from Gram Malari with Prachi Shukla. Between them run short pieces about faith and surrender, and reports on pilgrims who come to the darbar with an illness or a family trouble.

The channel is carried on satellite and on several Indian television platforms, and its internet feed runs without a break: the picture is 1920 by 1080 at 25 frames a second, about 2.8 Mbit per second on average, cut into six-second segments stamped with the time of transmission, and the playlist carries advertising markers of about a minute. It needs no set-top box to stream online.
