AMusic Channel online television

AMusic Channel is a Nigerian music television channel that presents itself as the youth-centred entertainment network of the country, on air around the clock, under the line Inspired By Music, Powered By Passion. The channel is carried on the StarTimes satellite platform at position 117 and reaches viewers through a group of streaming and television services, among them AVO TV, TCL, Distro TV, the In the Black Network and ChannelBox, in addition to the free internet feeds listed in the directories of online television. Its official video channel has run since 5 April 2010 and keeps the recordings of the live events the channel covers.

The programming puts live performance at the centre rather than studio talk, and the archive of the channel is built around the concerts and competitions it films in Lagos. The Make Music Lagos events supply most of it, including the Shut Down Concert editions with a full live performance by Made Kuti, Johnny Drille singing Colorado with the crowd, Dotti the Deity and Rotimi Keys on stage, and the Battle of the Bands competition, whose third edition closed with a grand finale carrying bands such as the African Folk Band and the Arite Music Band. Around the music the channel keeps the profile of a youth network, with the tempo and the language of the Nigerian urban scene, and it publishes the clips of these events as they are recorded.

The live signal runs in standard definition with two quality steps, 854 by 480 and 426 by 240, and needs no set-top box to stream online: Watch Live from a browser, a connected television or a phone, and the current programme is already on air.
