OOG TV is a Dutch local public television channel operating in the community news and information format. The primary languages of broadcasting are Dutch and English. The channel is operated by Stichting Omroep Organisatie Groningen (OOG), which serves as the public local broadcasting organization for the municipality of Groningen in the northern Netherlands. OOG TV was originally founded on September 25, 1984, making it one of the longest-running local broadcasters in the country. The channel is based on the Zernike Campus in Groningen at Kadijk 4, where it shares facilities with the Hanze University of Applied Sciences and the University of Groningen, fostering collaboration between media, education, and research.

On air, OOG TV features approximately 30 minutes of original television programming per day, including local news bulletins, sports coverage, cultural event reports, and community information. The flagship news coverage focuses on events in the city of Groningen and surrounding areas, including the former municipalities of Haren and Ten Boer which merged with Groningen in 2019. The channel covers local politics, including municipal council meetings and decisions affecting the community, as well as infrastructure projects, education, healthcare, and social issues. OOG TV is particularly known for its sports coverage, with OOG Sport Radio providing live coverage of local football matches on Saturday afternoons, featuring games from clubs including Oosterparkers, HFC'15, and FC Lewenborg.

Beyond news and sports, OOG TV produces cultural programming that highlights the vibrant arts scene of Groningen. The channel has produced documentary content, including a production about the SISEA electronic arts symposium featuring interviews with event organizers and video clips of performances. The channel also broadcasts human-interest stories, interviews with local artists and community leaders, and coverage of festivals and cultural events throughout the year. OOG Radio complements the television service, operating under the slogan Het Geluid van Groningen (The Sound of Groningen), broadcasting on FM frequencies 106.6 MHz and 107.0 MHz, and providing continuous radio programming 24 hours per day.

OOG TV is available through multiple distribution platforms. The channel is carried on analog cable on channel 7 in Groningen and Leek, and on digital cable on channel 40 across large parts of Groningen province. Viewers can watch online the live broadcast of OOG TV through the official OOG website at oogtv.nl, which offers live TV and radio streaming. Online television of OOG is also accessible via the OOG mobile application, available for smartphones and tablets, which provides live TV, live radio, on-demand news videos, push notifications for breaking news, and the ability to submit news tips directly to the editorial team. The channel also maintains a presence on social media platforms where it shares news updates and program highlights. The organization is a member of the NLPO, the association of local public broadcasters in the Netherlands.

OOG TV strives to be the primary source of local news and information for the Groningen community, serving the needs of residents in the city and the surrounding region. The mission of the channel is to keep citizens informed about events that affect their daily lives, to promote local culture and traditions, and to provide a platform for community voices and organizations. The channel operates as a public broadcaster funded through government subsidies, and serves as a breeding ground for young talent in journalism and media production, with close ties to educational institutions on the Zernike Campus. OOG TV also functions as the official emergency broadcaster for the municipality of Groningen, playing a critical role in disseminating important safety information during crises or disasters. Thanks to modern digital platforms, OOG TV provides the opportunity to watch online the live broadcast on any device - from smartphones to Smart TVs - ensuring that residents of Groningen and former residents living elsewhere in the Netherlands or abroad can stay connected to their home city wherever they are.
