Al Rafidain online television
Al Rafidain, in Arabic قناة الرافدين, is an Iraqi Arabic-language television channel that transmits from Istanbul while keeping its declared headquarters in Cairo, inside the media production city, with offices also reported in Amman and Damascus. It went on air on 10 April 2006 and has broadcast twenty-four hours a day ever since, addressing viewers inside Iraq and across the Arab diaspora. The channel presents itself as a voice of Iraqi affairs, and its signal travels by satellite as well as through its own online broadcast, so Iraqis abroad can follow it as closely as viewers at home.
The name and the on-air mark are built from a single image. Al Rafidain means the two rivers, a reference to the Tigris and the Euphrates and to the civilisation of Mesopotamia that rose between them, and the slogan Because we are a civilisation states the same claim outright. The golden circle of the emblem stands for the round city of Baghdad as it was laid out in the eighth century, and it is embraced by two long waves, one yellow and one blue, for the two rivers. The name itself is lettered in gold to match the frame, so word and symbol read as a single mark that cannot be split into picture and caption.
The schedule runs day and night and mixes news bulletins with political talk shows, debate programmes and cultural output devoted to Iraqi heritage and the wider Arab world, with the published grid following Baghdad time. Watching needs no subscription: Watch Live in a browser on a computer, a tablet or a phone, or on a connected television, and the satellite signal covers the Arab world. Watch TV Online Free, stream online at any hour, use this TV Online service for Iraqi broadcasting in Arabic, follow the Al Rafidain Live Stream and keep the Turkey Live Stream on the channel of the two rivers.
