Al Araby TV online television

Al Araby TV is a Qatari public service television channel operating in the 24-hour news and documentary format. The primary language of broadcasting is Arabic. The channel was launched on January 26, 2015, and is owned by the Fadaat Media Group, a media organization with headquarters in London, United Kingdom, and editorial and broadcast centers in Doha, Qatar. The channel was founded by the Chairman of the Fadaat Media Group, Ghassan Aboud, and its first Managing Director was Nadim Munla. Al Araby TV was established with the goal of offering an alternative, independent, and professional news platform for audiences in the Arab world, free from the political biases of existing news networks. This service is offered as an online television platform, allowing viewers to access its news coverage through satellite reception and the official website.

On air, Al Araby TV features a mix of rolling news coverage, current affairs programs, political talk shows, economic analysis, sports news, and award-winning documentary films. The flagship news program, Al Araby News, provides continuous coverage of events in the Middle East and around the world from a fresh, neutral perspective. The channel is particularly known for its high-quality documentaries, produced by its in-house production company, Al Araby Studios, which have covered topics ranging from the Tunisian revolution to the role of the Muslim Brotherhood. Key talk shows on the channel include Bila Hodod, a weekly political talk show hosted by Walid Al-Omari; Bi Wajh Al Tani, hosted by Faisal Al-Qassem; and Min Washington, hosted by Nabil Khoury. The channel also airs Economic Book, hosted by Bassam Al-Abdullah. For those who want to watch live channel broadcasts, the schedule is designed to provide comprehensive news analysis and in-depth coverage of regional and international affairs.

Al Araby TV has earned a reputation for its critical coverage of the governments of Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, and for its support of the Arab Spring uprisings. The channel has been banned in several Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt, where media regulators have blocked its website. In July 2023, the channel was banned from operating in Jordan at the request of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Despite these bans, the channel maintains a wide reach among Arab audiences, particularly since the launch of its London bureau and an increased focus on AI, digital production, and an immersive news studio.

Al Araby TV is available via satellite on the Nilesat system at 7.0 degrees west and on Arabsat at 26.0 degrees east. The technical parameters for reception on Nilesat include frequency 11096 MHz, vertical polarization, symbol rate 27500, and FEC 7/8. The channel broadcasts in high definition (MPEG-4) and is unencrypted and free-to-air, making it accessible to viewers with standard satellite equipment pointed at the Nilesat satellite. The channel’s signal footprint covers the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region, ensuring wide accessibility across the Arab world. Viewers can watch online the tv online service of Al Araby TV through its official website at alaraby.tv, which also provides a live stream and a video archive of documentaries and news programs.

Al Araby TV strives to be a leading independent news source for the Arab world, providing comprehensive, unbiased, and professional journalism. The mission of the channel is to present a new, compelling public service model for the Arab media landscape, focusing on integrity, reliability, and the highest standards of broadcast journalism. The channel is part of the Fadaat Media Group, which also includes the English-language digital news platform, The New Arab. Thanks to its satellite distribution and digital platforms, the channel provides the opportunity to watch live channel content, ensuring that its Arabic news and documentary programming reaches audiences across the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and the global Arab diaspora wherever they are.
