Al Aqsa Channel online television
Al Aqsa Channel, on air as Al-Aqsa TV and in Arabic as قناة الأقصى, is a Palestinian television channel based in the Gaza Strip and run by Hamas. It was founded in 2005, began broadcasting on 9 January 2006, and takes its name from the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. It is a branch of the Al-Aqsa Media Network, established by Fathi Hamad; at its height it employed about 200 people and grew out of a radio service.
Its output mixes news, children's programmes and religiously inspired entertainment, with Quran recitation and sport among the regular strands. The channel's history is one of interrupted transmission. Its headquarters on Al-Nasr Street, west of Gaza City, was destroyed in an air strike at dawn on Sunday 28 December 2008 during the war on Gaza; nobody was hurt because the building had been evacuated beforehand, and the channel was back on air within minutes from an undisclosed location, carrying a breaking ticker about the strike on its own building. It was struck again in late 2018. In June 2010 a European satellite operator was ordered to stop carrying the channel in France; in February 2014 its offices in Egypt were raided; and in February 2016 an Israeli military control room was reported to be jamming its West Bank reception for about four hours a day.
Watching is straightforward where a signal reaches: Watch Live in a browser on a computer, a tablet or a phone, or on a connected television, and by satellite across the Arab world. Neither an official website nor a working internet feed could be confirmed, so nothing is linked here rather than guessed at.
