3CatInfo online television
3CatInfo TV is a Spanish free-to-air television channel operating in the 24-hour news format. The primary language of broadcasting is Catalan, with some programming also available in Aranese Occitan. The channel is owned and operated by Televisió de Catalunya, which is part of the Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals. The channel is based in Sant Joan Despí, near Barcelona, and was originally launched on 11 September 2003 under the name 3/24.
On 17 September 2025, the channel was rebranded from 3/24 to 3CatInfo TV as part of a larger restructuring of Catalonia's public news services. This rebranding unified the television news channel with the former Catalunya Informació radio station, which became 3CatInfo Ràdio, and with new digital platforms under a single news brand. The launch campaign was built around the concept of informing, explaining, and understanding, with the goal of adapting to new audience habits and providing deeper context to news stories.
The channel's programming is built around continuous news cycles. Most of the day, under the title Notícies 3CatInfo, the channel features 30-minute news blocks. Each block includes local, national, and international news, sports coverage, and weather forecasts for Catalonia and the Valencian Community. At night, the channel broadcasts Mésnit, a news and talk show program that provides in-depth analysis of the day's events. A special Aranese language news broadcast is also aired twice daily.
In February 2026, 3CatInfo unveiled its new Studio 4, a state-of-the-art broadcast facility that represents a major technological leap for European public broadcasting. The studio is equipped with large LED screens and robotic cameras capable of free movement throughout the space. The studio is fully integrated with augmented reality, allowing for hyper-realistic 3D graphics, virtual environments, and live-rendered visual elements that synchronize perfectly with real camera movements. Studio 4 anchors the entire 3CatInfo news operation, producing a broad slate of daily programming ranging from the morning show Matins to the late-night analysis program Mésnit, as well as daily editions of Telenotícies.
3CatInfo TV is available throughout Catalonia via digital terrestrial television, as well as in the Balearic Islands, Andorra, and Northern Catalonia. Viewers can watch online the live broadcast through the 3Cat website and the official 3CatInfo mobile application. Online television of 3CatInfo also includes on-demand content, daily podcasts, personalized news feeds, and interactive features such as breaking news alerts and the ability to save articles for later reading.
3CatInfo TV aims to be the reference news brand for Catalan-speaking audiences, combining the credibility and rigor of traditional public broadcasting with modern digital formats and advanced visual storytelling techniques. The mission of the channel is to inform citizens, explain complex issues, and help people understand the world around them, while attracting new and younger audiences across television, radio, and digital platforms. Thanks to its technological investments and multiplatform strategy, 3CatInfo provides the opportunity to watch online the live broadcast on any device - from smartphones to Smart TVs - ensuring that Catalan news remains accessible to audiences both within Catalonia and around the world.
