ABC TV Plus online television

ABC TV Plus was an Australian entertainment channel operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, part of the ABC Television network. Its history is a chain of rebrands: launched as ABC2 on 7 March 2005 as the ABC's first free-to-air digital multichannel, rebranded as ABC Comedy on 4 December 2017 with a comedy-focused format, then renamed ABC TV Plus on 1 January 2021 when it returned to general entertainment. On 3 June 2024 the channel became ABC Family, moving general entertainment to the new ABC Entertains — so the page represents an era of the Australian television schedule that formally ended in 2024.

During the ABC TV Plus era, the schedule featured British comedies such as Would I Lie to You? and QI, Australian favorites, and a range of programming that shared Freeview channel 22 with ABC Kids, which broadcast outside ABC Family's evening-to-early-morning hours. The channel was available through digital terrestrial television across every capital city — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart and Darwin — as well as through ABC iview, the ABC's official streaming platform, for Australian viewers.

For audiences following the Australian Broadcasting Corporation from home or abroad, ABC TV Plus was for three years the general-entertainment face of the national broadcaster. The current equivalent remains accessible through ABC iview and the ABC Entertainment YouTube presence, letting viewers Watch Live and stream online the Australian comedy, drama and factual programming that continued under the new branding. Watch TV Online Free and follow ABC TV Plus live through the successor channel.
