ENT Family online television

ENT Family is a Canadian television channel operating in the youth-oriented entertainment format. The primary language of broadcasting is English. The channel is owned and operated by Corus Entertainment, one of Canada’s largest media companies, and is based in Toronto, Ontario. ENT Family was launched on September 1, 2005, under the name Family Now, as a spin-off channel of the main Family Channel, which has been a staple of Canadian children’s television since 1988.

On air, ENT Family features programming targeted primarily at teenagers and young adults, typically ranging from ages 13 to 21. The channel’s schedule includes a mix of live-action comedy series, drama series, and reality programming. Notable programs that have aired on the channel include “The Next Step,” a Canadian drama series about a competitive dance team; “Wingin’ It,” a supernatural comedy about a high school student who is assigned a guardian angel; “Beyblade,” an animated series about competitive spinning tops; and “Grojband,” an animated musical comedy. The channel has also aired acquired programming from other broadcasters, including reruns of popular teen-oriented series such as “Degrassi: The Next Generation” and various Disney Channel productions.

The channel originally launched as a specialty channel focused on lifestyle and reality programming for families, but it rebranded over time to focus more narrowly on the teen demographic. In its early years, Family Now featured programs about home renovation, cooking, and family activities. By the early 2010s, the channel had shifted its focus entirely to scripted and unscripted entertainment for older children and teenagers, and it was renamed ENT Family to reflect this new positioning. The channel operates as a commercial-supported service, carrying advertising breaks between programs.

ENT Family is available throughout Canada via cable networks, satellite providers, and IPTV platforms. The channel is carried on major television providers including Rogers Cable, Shaw Communications, Bell Fibe TV, Telus Optik TV, and Vidéotron. Viewers can watch online the live broadcast of ENT Family through the official Family Channel website and the Family Channel mobile application, which require a subscription login from a participating television provider. Online television of ENT Family is also accessible via the Corus Entertainment streaming platforms and through various TV Everywhere apps. The channel broadcasts in standard definition and high definition, depending on the provider.

ENT Family strives to provide a safe, age-appropriate entertainment destination for Canadian teenagers, offering content that reflects the experiences, interests, and challenges of young adults. The mission of the channel is to complement the main Family Channel, which targets younger children, by serving the older segment of the youth audience with programming that is engaging, relatable, and responsible. The channel is part of Corus Entertainment’s extensive portfolio of specialty channels, which includes YTV, Nickelodeon Canada, Disney Channel Canada, and Adult Swim Canada. Thanks to modern digital platforms, ENT Family provides the opportunity to watch online the live broadcast on any device — from smartphones to Smart TVs — ensuring that Canadian teenagers and young adults across the country can access its youth-oriented entertainment wherever they are.

The picture is sharp on my laptop and Fire Stick, with clear sound and no buffering so far. HD takes a few seconds to kick in, but playback stays stable.

The business reports are refreshingly straightforward, and the election coverage usually gives both sides room to speak. I only wish the breaking-news banner would stay on screen long enough to read.

The election debates are at their best when the moderators push past rehearsed talking points. Lately, though, the business segments feel too quick to explain what the numbers actually mean for local viewers.

A rerun of an old family series brought back memories of watching it after school. The weekend movie lineup here is always an easy choice.

The weekend movie marathons are a nice throwback, especially when they include older family films I remember watching as a kid.

I keep this stream bookmarked for quiet weekend mornings when I want something cheerful but not too loud.
Rachel Hamilton
Has anyone else noticed how many throwback shows are tucked into the schedule lately?

The local headlines and weather are usually concise, but the scrolling ticker moves so fast that I miss half the details. Slowing it down would make the news much easier to follow.

I know this is mainly a family channel, but the news breaks and weather updates are surprisingly clear. I would like a little more local reporting and less repetition when major stories develop.

I found ENT Family while traveling and liked the familiar cartoons, although the stream took a couple of tries to load from overseas. Once it started, the picture stayed clear.
