Ecuavisa Guayaquil online television
Ecuavisa Guayaquil is a regional production center and studio for the national television network Ecuavisa, operating in the generalist format. The primary language of broadcasting is Spanish. The channel’s Guayaquil studios are located at Ciudadela Kennedy, Calle Quinta, frente al Club de Leones, in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. The network was founded on March 1, 1967, by the late Antonio Granda Centeno, and its first transmission in Guayaquil (which began in 1974) was directed by Carlos Macías. The network is currently owned by the Mateschitz family, co-owners of Red Bull, who acquired the channel in April 2023.
On air, the Guayaquil studio produces local segments of the network’s national programming, including the highly popular daily variety show “En Contacto“ and local news segments for the coastal region. The flagship news program is “Televistazo“, which, from its Guayaquil base, covers events and issues relevant to Guayas and the coast, including news from the city of Guayaquil. In recent years, the station has also become a hub for political and electoral analysis, hosting debates and interviews with candidates for the Mayor of Guayaquil, with past participants including former mayors Jaime Nebot and Cynthia Viteri, as well as independent candidates.
As the second largest production center for Ecuavisa, the Guayaquil division operates local studios for the network’s variety series (such as the recast of classic sketches) and produces the network’s evening newscast for the coastal region. The station maintains a museum about its history and serves as a local media hub for Guayaquil’s business community, receiving advertising support from major retail and commercial chains in the area.
Ecuavisa Guayaquil is available via live streaming through the Ecuavisa mobile app and the official website ecuavisa.com, offering access to its local content from any device. The station strives to be a main source of information and entertainment for the city of Guayaquil and the coastal region.
