Dvojka live stream

Dvojka STV2 online television

Dvojka is the second television programme service of STVR, the public-law, state-funded broadcaster of Slovakia based in the Mlynska dolina district of Bratislava. Its lineage runs back to the second network of Czechoslovak Television, which went out from the turn of the 1970s with separate Czech and Slovak versions; the Slovak service was born with independence in the early 1990s under the name STV2, survived a late-1990s privatization plan that parliament stopped, and took the name Dvojka in a mid-2000s relaunch that moved cultural, sports and minority programming onto it.

The broadcaster states the remit itself: the day speaks to interest groups, including regional and national-minority audiences with Hungarian news, a Roma magazine and a sign-language bulletin, and its special task is the support of domestic documentary production. Drama arrives as recordings of theatre performances and selections from the archive of original Slovak television work, religious services hold a slot, and music runs from folklore and country through jazz to classical, operetta and opera. Cultural talk shows such as Pod lampou and Literarne oko, regional news fed by the Bratislava, Kosice and Banska Bystrica studios, the monthly regional visit Vitajte u nas and football and hockey league coverage complete the grid.

The service broadcasts round the clock, rides the public terrestrial multiplex and reaches satellite homes via Astra at 23.5 degrees East, alongside its sisters Jednotka, Sport and 24.
