DR Ramasjang online television

DR Ramasjang is the Danish public service television channel for children, operated by DR, the national broadcaster. It targets viewers aged roughly three to thirteen and takes its name from the Danish word ramasjang, which means a loud, festive uproar, close to the English hullabaloo. The channel launched on 1 November 2009 and is based in Aarhus, where DR concentrated its children's programming division.

As a public service channel funded by the media licence, it carries no commercials and focuses on age-appropriate content that mixes entertainment with learning and play. The lineup combines Danish original productions, animation and live-action programmes, and it includes Minisjang, a strand aimed at the youngest preschool viewers with short songs, games and simple stories. Among the best-known originals are the claymation series John Dillermand and the annual MGP junior song contest, and the schedule runs through the day around the rhythms of family viewing.

DR Ramasjang sits alongside its sister channels DR1, DR2 and DR Ultra, and it reaches households across the Danish Realm on terrestrial, cable and satellite platforms as well as through the broadcaster's online service, which also carries a continuous live feed.
