Documentary+ online television

Documentary+ is an American free streaming television service given entirely to nonfiction film and series. It was launched in January 2021 by XTR, the independent documentary studio that Bryn Mooser founded in Los Angeles, and it presents itself as home to the best documentaries in the world, from Academy Award winning classics and box office hits to festival darlings and cult favorites. The service now sits beside acTVe, the FAST channel studio whose chief executive Geoffrey James Clark also runs Documentary+. Watch Live the American feed and keep a steady United States Live Stream of factual television.

The grid mixes award winning features, festival hits and original productions across true crime, sport, music, culture, history, science and technology. Full length titles recently published on the official video channel include Ending the Cold War, on the nuclear gamble behind the end of the Cold War, When the Devil Came to Salem, about the witch trials of 1692, and Catching Bullets, on the cycle of violence in St. Louis. The library also holds Trango, about the first ski descent of the Great Trango Tower in Pakistan, plus collections from Alex Gibney, Werner Herzog and Kathryn Bigelow.

Beyond the round the clock linear channel the service runs video on demand, so viewers can stream online on a phone, tablet, laptop or TV set wherever the connection allows. Carriage covers Samsung TV Plus, Roku, Amazon Freevee, Fire TV, Plex, Sling TV, Fubo, Vizio, Xumo, Apple TV and Android TV, while the official site docplus.com carries the live channels page. A companion outlet, DOCUMENTARY+ INSIDER, publishes trailers, clips and filmmaker interviews.
