DLTV 5 online television
DLTV 5 is the first classroom channel of Thai educational television, operated by the Distance Learning Foundation under Royal Patronage, which broadcasts live lessons from Wang Klaikangwon School in Hua Hin to classrooms and homes across the country. The foundation was created by royal initiative of King Bhumibol Adulyadej to reduce educational inequality and to help schools that lack teachers, and it began its first distance-learning broadcast on 5 December 1995. DLTV 5 carries the full curriculum of Primary 5. Watch Live the classroom feed and keep a steady Thailand Live Stream of educational television.
The channel follows the school day: live lessons in Thai language, mathematics, science and technology, social studies, religion and culture, history, health and physical education, arts, English and career skills, taught by the teachers of Wang Klaikangwon and followed by classes all over Thailand, where remote schools use the broadcast as their classroom teacher. Special segments add natural-disaster awareness cartoons and a history series about the Thai nation, and the schedule is published with closed captions and a small sign-language window for accessibility. Lessons can be watched in advance or after the broadcast, so a missed class is never lost.
The signal is published as an open internet stream in high definition, so viewers can stream online on a phone, tablet, laptop or TV, and the official site adds the broadcast schedule, the live page, the catch-up archive, news and a forum for teachers and families. Recordings and school programmes from the same catalogue run on the official video channel of the foundation, known to generations of Thai pupils as the teacher in the box, followed by tens of thousands of subscribers. Watch TV Online Free lessons, revision classes and school programmes, and enjoy a real TV Online window onto the classroom television of Thailand.
